Tasty Tuesday – Ambrosia — 10 Comments

  1. Coffee and tea? Girl you are speaking my language. This might be my Saturday morning \’get motivated\’ drink.

  2. I\’ve never had a cup of coffee. I know, I know, what kind of Italian am I, that hates coffee. LOL But I can edit your recipe and use hot chocolate.

I can also serve this to the coffee drinkers I know in my family.

  3. See, I\’m the opposite of you – I\’m not that crazy about TEA. (And I drink Kwik Trip coffee – I know, I\’m a Philistine!) Have GOT to try this sometime – chocolate goes with everything!

  4. Okay, I love this–and not just because there are mornings when I can\’t decide if I want coffee or tea. 😉 And Vosges is awesome…do you use their Aztec cocoa mix? Ah, the possibilities there!

  5. My goodness, Selena, never ever? Hmm. You might not want to start now, then, because your tongue will probably find it strong-tasting. However, give Ambrosia a try even with the coffee because I think the flavor blend would be pleasant for you. Just make sure to add the cream and some sugar or honey to it. It\’s yummy.

  6. Kwik Trip WHAT????

Renee, that is NOT coffee, luv. You and I have got to talk about French press coffee. Srsly. It doesn\’t take long to make and tastes way WAY better than crap. I promise. Check out Trader Joe\’s for inexpensive but excellent quality stuff.

And I agree – chocolate goes with everything!

Do you have a favorite kind of tea?

  7. Hi, PG! I LOVE Vosges Aztec cocoa! I\’ll tell you what I do, actually, that\’s a twist on that. I add Raz al Hanout to my coffee along with dark cocoa and honey. It gives it that pepper kick and a bit of cardamom and curry. Raz al Hanout can be found at the Spice House, which is my favorite spice merchant here in the states.

  8. Hi, Nancy! It does have a nice kick. The caffeine in the coffee, the theophiline in the tea, and the theobromide in the cocoa are all terrific. The caffeine is a stimulant, the theophiline is a bronchodilator (opens the lungs), and theobromide stimulates the pleasure centers of the brain. So, more oxygen, more awake-feeling, and pleasure. My kind of drink!
