A to Z Blogging Challenge, Day 2: B Is For Burning Bright!
Nothing can beat the sensation of the holidays, surrounded by family, and getting the email with the contract offer from our publisher for our very first book. The sense of, “Oh, my Gosh, is this really happening,” coupled with, “I’M SO EXCITED I COULD DANCE AROUND THE HOUSE WHOOPING LIKE AN IDIOT!” is not to be downplayed.
We learned a lot from that first process. Like the first time at anything, you go into it with the best intentions and the thought that you kind of, sort of, know what questions to ask. It’s never like you imagine it to be and you learn things you never thought you needed to know.
So here’s a question:
What have you had to learn that’s surprised you?
I\’m querying a book now, so I\’m not sure yet…but I bet a LOT I\’ll think of a ton of question I SHOULD have asked, after the fact. Yup, it\’s all a learning experience… 🙂
I know, right? You always think of the best questions AFTER you needed to ask them. 🙂
Best of luck with the queries!
Oh Catherine I didn\’t know you are an author. I am going to have to scroll through your books and grab a few. I\’m feeling excited. I have a children\’s book swirling in my head. One day I will take the leap.
Thank you, MJ! I hope you do write your children\’s book. What an awesome project! Will it have pictures? What age is the target audience?
